Accordionist and composer.
Nikolai started his education at the age of seven with his father, who taught the accordion at a musical school with Valery Elysseev.
He later graduated from the Gnessin College of Music in Moscow (Professor Nikolai Komissarov) and the Russian Academy of Music (Professor Igor Siroyezhkin). He also had master classes with Frederick Lips, who encouraged him throughout his studies.
Nikolai performed as a soloist and ensemble musician at the International Classical Accordion Festivals ‘Bayan and Bayanisti’ in Moscow during 1990-1993 directed by Frederick Lips. In 1994 he toured Switzerland performing in Berne, Zurich, Lugano, Geneva and other cities.
In 1995 Nikolai moved to London and along with performances, demonstrating his shining virtuoso playing, he is teaching at the Musica Nova Academy, encouraging the promotion of Russian folk music.
