Russian Community Council in Great Britain presents
"Stars of the Albion" contest is
addressed to the Russian-speaking diaspora in the UK to identify the creative
potential of talented compatriots. The
project is linked to one of the most famous Russian holiday’s "Maslenitsa”
which will be celebrated on the 15th February 2015. It is expected
over 250 performers will take part in the contest, including young dancers,
musicians (singers and instrumentalists), as well as theatre groups. Age of participants 6 - 30 years. At least 200,000 people
will view the broadcasts in the electronic media and social sites and read the
media publications. The level participants who expressed a desire to
participate in the contest is extremely high, many of them have already won
laureate titles at national and international competitions.
The participants will compete in two rounds. The first one will be based on video recordings of two pieces sent by the participants to the organising committee. Only 30 participants will be selected to perform in the second round. The second (final) round will be opened to the public and will be held at the Mission of Rossotrudnichestvo in central London with participation of distinguished guest artists.The contestants at all rounds will be judged by well-known artists, musicians and representatives of media. An interesting programme of events has been scheduled for the participants, including Awards Gala Concert, master classes with well-known musicians, performance at the Trafalgar Square on the opening concert of the festival of Russia culture “Maslenitsa”.
